Solutions
An artificial animal reared at artificial densities needs a safe, biosecure, artificial environment that as closely as possible mimics its natural feeds and habitat. There are reasons Newfoundland and Labrador has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to wild salmonid stocks. We have unique feed, climate, water resources, infrastructure, energy, and market accessibility strengths that we can easily capitalize on for a cleaner, leaner, healthier salmonid production model. We are ready to lead the world in greener sustainable food efficiency!

Replace
|
1. Halt all open net pen expansion and start the shift to closed containment.
2. Reduce government investments and support, especially for the open net pen method. 3. Reduce industry influence over regulation and self-reporting with more social license and independent stakeholder oversight. |
1. Replace feed pellets based on the use of whole wild fish fit for human consumption with more sustainable but natural insect, algae, etc ingredients while maximizing the use of wild fish cuttings. Soy, chickens, pigs, ethoxyquin, etc were never salmonid foods. Healthy natural inputs make for healthy more natural food products.
2. Replace artificial dyes and antioxidants with more natural products or processes that do not require them like shorter shelf life feed pellets. |

1. Reuse infrastructure like abandoned mines and industrial complexes.
2. Use green energy and passively stored currently under utilized non-peak energy. 3. Reused waste by-products after cleaning hazardous chemicals |
1. Recycle waste that can not be repurposed while maximizing benefits and limiting impacts.
2. As much infrastructure as possible should come from recycled materials. |
